Project: Hive Mapping Large on Mirror back Client: Yvon House - London, UK collectors of contemporary art Photography: Yvon House - London, UK Materials: Birch, acrylic mirror Dimensions: 46” W x 48” H x 2”D Year: 2025
Yvon House commissioned Hive Mapping Large on Mirror back for an office space in London, UK. When they approached me, they had selected the wall for the artwork, and we worked closely together to determine the scale and appearance of the piece. On the production side, the project had some interesting challenges, such as finding a method of adhering the wood to the mirror acrylic, preferably without the use of adhesives that posed issues with longtime maintenance. The solution was to use Chicago screws to hold the two materials together and ensure alignment of the hexagon pattern. In addition, a French cleat was incorporated on the back so that the artwork sits flush to the wall and prevent any movement. In situ, Hive Mapping Largeon mirror back perfectly harmonizes within the space mirroring adjacent design elements into a warm, cohesive finish.
